Slice announced that he is on to forge a career as a professional boxer.

“I feel like a baby all over again,” Slice told ESPN NewYork. “I’m thinking about this at night. I’m gonna be a problem in the heavyweight division. I’m going to be coming in with a bad demeanor. I want to see what it’s like to break some ribs, break a jaw with one punch.”

While we’re mostly certain that is easier to do in MMA than boxing, we credit Slice for his passion and actually being a good ambassador for the sport. He got paid a ton of cash, but he still humbled himself enough to join UFC’s “The Ultimate Fighter” and try and make it as an MMA fighter. He showed heart and a desire to truly become a mixed martial artist.

Slice did not rule out a return to MMA, but we’ll try to get a belt in the world of boxing. Former Elite XC promoter Gary Shaw said, “I’ve always said he could be a world champion. I believe in that more than ever. This is not the era of Tyson, Holyfield and Lennox Lewis.”

Some were hack jobs, others were decent, and a couple, like the UFC games, really turned heads. EA Sports decided that UFC, as one league, shouldn’t control the market, and their highly anticipated MMA game is set to release in October.

EA Sports is involving the entire world of MMA in their game. The video game conglomerate has struck deals with Strikeforce, FSM, and other Japanese-based leagues to develop a game with multiple characters, Pride-style and Unified rules, and advanced user controls that go well beyond the boundaries of previous releases.

Needless to say, fight fans can’t wait for this game to drop. To quench the thirst of the eager beavers, EA Sports has just released some walk-in footage—the videos can be found on YouTube—featuring entrances from Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal, Jason “Mayhem” Miller, and Fedor Emelianenko.

Fighting games remain insanely popular due to the realism of the controls. Unlike a simple video poker game or any version of playable Italian plumbers you’ll find, MMA games offer the kick-ass pragmatism of caged fights.

Instead of hunting around for an online casino bonus or trying to get your faux snake through a maze via your cellular phone, true gamers appreciate the intense action, the true-to-life graphics, the professionalism put into the game via real characters, scenarios and announcers, and the opportunity to become more familiar with the sport.

The true aspect of Ea Sports’ MMA, however – it’s simply fun! Sure, video blackjack and Pac-Man has a strong niche out there, but Jacks don’t hit the canvas via a spinning backfist, and you can’t grapple with a ghost and tap them out with a triangle. Case closed.

Brighton based Mark Amor-Carling thinks he can, and will be stepping into the cage on September 18th at UCMMA 15: Showdown in front of a sell out crowd for his biggest challenge to date.

With the help of some experienced and skilled mixed martial artists, top nutritionists, boxers and cage fighting promoters, our hero in training will take on veteran fighter Jason ‘Badass’ Barrett in three five minute rounds of full contact MMA. Every punch, every kick and every tear is being captured for an upcoming TV series that will follow this grueling attempt at understanding these modern gladiators from the inside.

The team:

· Dave O’Donnell, promoter, founder of UCMMA and cage fighting guru who introduced the sport to the UK heads up the team. He’s guiding, advising and showing Mark every aspect of this glamorous yet dangerous sport.

· Dale Hatt one of Britain’s most dangerous men, taking a break from looking after global super-stars such as Timberland and JaRule is putting his expertise into training Mark full time.

· Kenny Moyston is a Muay Thai knockout machine bringing some of the most stunning leg work to be seen ever in the cage.

· Mark Prince Champion boxer and KO King will be the striking coach showing how to land the perfect one two.

Dave O’Donnell said: “It’s not often that guys come along who say they want to fight and actually do – Mark Carling is one of those guys – balls as big as coconuts and obviously no fear. Every time I’ve trained with him and put him to the test he hasn’t backed down. He may not be the best fighter in the world but he’s guaranteed to come out and give it 100%.”

We’ll find out how big those coconuts really are at UCMMA 15: Showdown, on September 18th in Troxy, London.

This is the equivalent of a nice MMA freak show fight. I’m predicting Butterbean by gas out. As in from his rear end. But seriously folks… Butterbean is coming off a first-round loss to Jeffrey Kugel in March at the Xtreme Cagefighting Championship. In December of 2009, he submitted Chris Cruit at the first Moosin show via rear naked choke. He holds a pro record of 12-7-1.

Pudzianowski lost to Tim Sylvia at the most recent Moosin event, and has been rumored to fight Kimbo Slice in October at a Moosin card in Chicago. The loss to Sylvia was his first after opening up his pro MMA career with 2 straight wins, both at KSW events.

Here’s some vintage Butterbean from 2007 against James Thompson:

The fight had to be stopped because of the eye, and Howard was handed his first defeat in the UFC.
