If you want to be a big fan, that’s cool. Let’s try to keep it a bit under control though, mm-kay? Videos of awesome KOs or subs? All good. Killer gifs? Also good. Producing a video with an original rap to congratulate a fighter with 2 pro bouts for getting to 5,000 fans on Facebook? Alert the authorities and have them write up the restraining orders.

This stuff about his kid is just a bit too creepy. Am I the only one weirded out by this? The fighter in the video is Jason David Frank, best known for being a Power Ranger back in the day. Probably a real nice guy, but he really doesn’t have any stature in the sport yet. Even if he did, his fans are a bit too much for me. Am I just a hater? Maybe. But at least I’m not a stalker.

Miguel Torres is one of  MMA’s living legends. But last night he was handed his second consecutive defeat in brutal fashion at the hands of Joseph Benavidez. A vicious, well-placed elbow ripped open Torres’ head and released a fountain of blood. Benavidez quickly finished him shortly thereafter with a suffocating guillotine choke.

Spike and the UFC have revealed the cast for season 11 of “The Ultimate Fighter” with coaches Tito Ortiz and Chuck Liddell. They have released the names of 28 combatants, but they will still have a 32-man tournament. The new season begins Wednesday, March 31st.

Here is the complete list released by the UFC:

RICH ATTONITO
Fighting out of: Deerfield Beach, FL / American Top Team
Record: 7-3
Age: 32
A 2001 graduate of Hofstra University in Long Island, Rich Attonito wrestled several different weight classes as a member of the Pride wrestling team including the 167lb. and 197lb. divisions. Attonito has been training with American Top Team since he moved to Florida in 2006. He is the strength and conditioning coach for UFC veteran Luigi Fioravanti.

SETH BACZYNSKI

Age: 28

Hailing from Milford, OH, O’Donnell suffered his first professional loss this past September against cast mate Costantinos Philippou. Before that, he had won eight contests, seven of which by submission.

JAMIE YAGER

A standout varsity letterman in baseball and football, Yager was the 2001 Athlete of the Year at South Pasadena High School in California. He picked up training MMA as a hobby, and went straight from training to the professional ranks in February 2008 as part of BET’s Iron Ring, where he defeated his opponent by TKO.

Leave it to a man called “Butterbean” to get this fight going. Mariusz Pudzianowski, the world’s strongest man, will take on former UFC heavyweight champ Tim “The Maine-iac” Sylvia at the DCU Center in Worcester, Mass on April 23rd.

Eric “Butterbean” Esch and co-promoter Corey Fischer told the Boston Herald that the bouts will take place under the Korean-based promotion, Moosin, and Pudzianowski vs. Sylvia will headline the event.

This will be the U.S. debut for Pudzianowski, who has won the World’s Strongest Man title a record five times. The 33-year-old made his MMA debut in December and this show will mark his U.S. debut.

Fischer said that former UFC fighters Rich Clementi, Yves Edwards and Houston Alexander will also fight on the card. But one quote by Fischer might be a bit much: “It’ll be on pay-per-view and shown live in Korea, Poland, Canada and about 14 other countries. This will have more viewers than (the UFC’s) show.”

Perhaps in total viewership, but raise your hand if you’ve ever heard of Moosin before reading this or the Herald article. I’m sure Dana White couldn’t care less.

Pudzianowski is no joke and isn’t some sort of novelty act. He dominated in his first fight.

Sylvia is looking to get his career back on track after brutal losses to Ray Mercer, Fedor and Big Nog. He started that process with a KO win over Jason Riley at Adrenaline 4.

Check out this video from last night’s Strikeforce Challengers event, as up and comer Luke Rockhold took on Paul Bradley in a middleweight fight. Rockhold undoubtedly looks impressive in the match, but the final blow that did in Bradley looks to be low.

Either way Rockhold was dominating the fight, as he dropped Bradley several times in the round. Rockhold moves to 7-1 with the win.

Gotta love some pre-fight smack talk. We have a little bit already for the March bout between Frank Mir and Shane Carwin at UFC 111.

Frank Mir recently said about Brock Lesnar that he wanted “to break his neck in the ring” and that he wanted “to be the first person that dies due to Octagon-related injuries”. Mir is absolutely obsessed with avenging his loss to Lesnar, but first he has to get through Carwin. Mir has since apologized, But Carwin had this to say to MMABay:

“I did not see the interview so I can’t comment on what he might have said. I can tell you that any athlete wishing death upon a competitor is either a terrible human being or mentally unfit to fight. That type of talk and if it ever happened will take this sport backwards. Frank has been a part of the stone ages of MMA and it makes no sense why he would want or make comments that might damage a lot of the good he has participated in adding to this sport over the years.”

“Brock is a heel in the ring but at home he is a human, husband, father and friend to many. Wishing death or harm upon him doesn’t serve any purpose. I will do my best to make Frank’s dream of fighting Brock come true, unfortunately for them it will be a three round fight as I plan on winning both of those belts.”

I’m sure Carwin believes he will beat Mir, but the truth is Mir has never been bigger or stronger, and possibly never  better as a complete martial artist.

The other truth in this is that Carwin has never got in the cage with a fighter of Mir’s caliber. His toughest opponent has been Gabriel Gonzaga, now an afterthought in the UFC heavyweight division. And by the time Carwin and Mir do battle it will have been over a year since Carwin fought last in the UFC.

Shane Carwin seems like a nice guy and an ambassador for the sport. But I think his time is over come UFC 111.
