I think it’s great how the chick that delivered the knockout kick was a bit stunned that she won. It was almost like it took some time to register that she actually KO’d the other fighter.

Just because something is beautiful doesn’t mean in can’t cause pain. Here, Cairo Rocha lands a ‘Gancho Giratoria’ on Francisco Neves at the Brazilian Fighting Championships last Friday.

Cris Cyborg goes all Cyborg to retain her Strikeforce title. It’s starting to sound like a broken record, but it’s no less exciting to watch. Here she runs through Hiroko Yamanaka in just :16 to defend her title. She’s running out opponents — unless she agrees to take on MMA’s newest hottie, Ronda Rousey.

Chan Sung Jung is better known to fight fans as ‘The Korean Zombie’. He got the nickname for his ability to withstand insane amounts of punishment while continuing to keep coming forward at his opponent.

Saturday night at UFC 140, he did not need to enter Zombie-mode at all. There was no back and forth between the two fighters. There was a tap of the gloves to start the fight, a swing and a miss by Mark Hominick and this blast by the Zombie that ended it all — in just :07.

Could the Korean Zombie be in line for a title fight? Hominick was the last man to fight Jose Aldo for the belt, and Zombie just finished him in :07. Bring it!

MMA has been around for quite some time, it’s only pretty recent that it’s having such a boom in popularity, unless Manny Pacquiao is fighting that is. Regardless of how long it has taken to get mainstream popularity, one thing is for certain, there is absolutely no shortage of highlight reel knockouts. In fact, these videos are proof of that. It’s true — chicks totally dig the spinning backfist. They use it as a vicious weapon, as Jenny Yum did in this Tuff N Uff fight. It’s a one-way ticket to La-La Land. Just ask Lindsay Jones. The video:

The recipient of the backfist, Lindsay Jones, had no idea what hit her. She was wobbling minutes after she got jacked. What looked to be a premature stoppage by the ref — we couldn’t see Jones out from that camera angle — must have been a great one.

You may remember Zoila Frausto from our list of the 11 hottest MMA fighters or the video of where she almost got her arm ripped off by Miesha Tate. But at Bellator 23, Frausto was making news again, this time recording what could be the best-ever KO in women’s MMA. While that’s debatable, it certainly is one of the best. Just ask Rosi Sexton.

The Masanori Kanehara vs Marlon Sandro fight at Sengoku 13 on June 20th didn’t last very long, but it produced one of the most devastating KOs of the year.

It makes sense that Sandro will be compared to Jose Aldo. He trains with the WEC champion and has 4 first round KOs in his last 5 fights. One was only 9 seconds into the round and another was just 19. He is now 17-1 and the new Sengoku featherweight champ.

You don’t see this much in MMA: a spinning heel kick that knocks out a fighter. You must certainly don’t see them when they are the first and only strike of the entire fight.
