Fireball Kid Faceplant Knockout

The Fireball Kid was blazing last night at UFC on Versus 2 in San Diego. Lame cliches aside, Takanori Gomi produced a spectacular highlight-reel knockout against Tyson Griffin.

Great win for Gomi who was coming off a rather embarrassing loss to Kenny Florian in his first UFC fight. Gomi earned “Knockout of the Night” bonus of 40k. He needed just 1:04 to dispose of Griffin. Griffin has now lost 2 in a row. Gomi was fighting for his UFC life. Had he lost to Griffin he would have likely been cut by the UFC.
