EA Sports’ New Walk-In Preview Leaves Fans Anxious

Due to the worldwide success of Mixed Martial Arts, the video game market quickly climbed aboard the fast-moving train and started releasing games for the genre. Some were hack jobs, others were decent, and a couple, like the UFC games, really turned heads. EA Sports decided that UFC, as one league, shouldn’t control the market, and their highly anticipated MMA game is set to release in October.

EA Sports is involving the entire world of MMA in their game. The video game conglomerate has struck deals with Strikeforce, FSM, and other Japanese-based leagues to develop a game with multiple characters, Pride-style and Unified rules, and advanced user controls that go well beyond the boundaries of previous releases.

Needless to say, fight fans can’t wait for this game to drop. To quench the thirst of the eager beavers, EA Sports has just released some walk-in footage—the videos can be found on YouTube—featuring entrances from Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal, Jason “Mayhem” Miller, and Fedor Emelianenko.

Fighting games remain insanely popular due to the realism of the controls. Unlike a simple video poker game or any version of playable Italian plumbers you’ll find, MMA games offer the kick-ass pragmatism of caged fights.

Instead of hunting around for an online casino bonus or trying to get your faux snake through a maze via your cellular phone, true gamers appreciate the intense action, the true-to-life graphics, the professionalism put into the game via real characters, scenarios and announcers, and the opportunity to become more familiar with the sport.

The true aspect of Ea Sports’ MMA, however – it’s simply fun! Sure, video blackjack and Pac-Man has a strong niche out there, but Jacks don’t hit the canvas via a spinning backfist, and you can’t grapple with a ghost and tap them out with a triangle. Case closed.
