Tito Ortiz’s Neck Surgery Video
Tito Ortiz had to back out of his fight with Chuck Liddell and leave as coach of “The Ultimate Fighter”. He needed surgery on his neck and got the procedure on video so we could all enjoy it! It almost looks as if these surgeons are working on a car. You think they’d be a little bit gentler in there!

Canadians Love Their MMA Too
The Stanley Cup Finals are about to take place between the Chicago Blackhawks and the Philadelphia Flyers. You know Canadians are excited about that, even if the cup will be taken back to the states again. But hockey is not the only sport that the Great White North gets all amped up about. Canadians love MMA too.
The WEC is making its way to Canada for the first time. WEC: Varner vs Shalorus will be live from Edmonton on June 20th at 9pm ET. It will be aired live on Versus and The Score. In this clip, the Canadian stars of UFC 113 discuss the WEC’s arrival in Canada.
Fedor Training For Werdum Fight
Here’s some video of Fedor Emelianenko training for his upcoming June 26th Strikeforce match against Fabricio Werdum.
Gina Carano In High School
Here is a pic of Gina Carano back in her high school days. This was posted over at the UG, and I swear that some of the dudes there must be detectives or something with how they unearth so many finds. Anyway, she was a cute kid then, as you would expect.
Question: will she fight again? She’s only had 3 fights over the past 2 years. We’ve seen Gina acting in the Steven Soderbergh thriller “Knockout”, which is due out in 2011. Her role is supposed to be a female version of Jason Bourne, and apparently she is also a pilot in the film. Movies are cool, but Gina is a fighter. Come back and fight soon, Gina.

World’s Strongest Man Gives Up, Taps Out
Former UFC heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia battled “World’s Strongest Man” Mariusz Pudzianowski at “Moosin: God of Martial Arts” in Worcester, Mass.
Good for you, Tim Sylvia. Is there any other former champion that gets less respect than Sylvia? Doubtful. He may never be world champion again, but I was glad to see him win and also beat down the latest novelty fighter in MMA in Pudzianowski.
Ref Chokes Out Dirty Fighter
This is a prime example of how to get yourself disqualified from a fight. Hit the fighter before the bell and throw illegal knees. It’s also the best way to have the unthinkable done to you: get choked out by the ref. Look at how far MMA has come since this fight in 2005 there would never be a punch after the bell or any kind of brawl inside the cage after a fight. What? Oh. Well here’s the video of Atilla Kubilay getting pwned by the ref. Does the ref get the win?
Rashad and Rampage Still Talking S**t
Rashad Evans and Rampage Jackson met up on the UFC 114 conference call and continued where they left off when they were opposing coaches on TUF 10: talking a whole lot of mess.
We can only hope that the fight is half as good as the talk.
Creepy Peeper Picks Wrong House: MMA Fighter’s
You just have to love when things like this happen. A creepy peeping tom made a huge mistake in his selection process, and it cost him a beating. He chose to roll some tape in the backyard of a nice couple. The husband just happened to be skilled in martial arts.
Kenneth Parkerson, 28, was arrested Wednesday night after he allegedly sneaked into the screened patio of a home, carrying a video camera, police said.
The homeowner’s wife saw him and yelled for her husband, Pembroke Pines firefighter Ireneusz Fajkis, according to the police report.
Fajkis chased Parkerson onto his front lawn and tackled him to the ground, according to the police report.
Parkerson, of Coral Springs, was taken to Coral Springs Medical Center, where he talked to a nurse treating his wounds.
“I picked the wrong house,” he reportedly said, “because a UFC [mixed martial arts] fighter lived there and beat me up.”
Parkerson was arrested on one count of burglary, one count of video voyeurism, one count of marijuana possession and one count of tampering with evidence, for allegedly trying to destroy the camera while he was being chased.
From the mugshot it looks like he got the beatdown he so richly deserved. He also looks like a cross between Scott Weiland from “Stone Temple Pilots” and Aaron Paul from “Breaking Bad”.

President Obama Talks Some MMA
President Obama was in Buffalo to speak about the economy and answer questions from workers. He stopped by “Duff’s Famous Wings” for some grub. He ordered 10 medium wings, some fries and onion rings. Sounds good, right? He also worked the room and ended up in a short conversation about MMA.
A.J. Verel and his friend Jessica Walters were the last people to place a lunch order at the bar before the president walked in. Verel, a champion kick-boxer, said he talked at length with the president about martial arts, kick-boxing and the sport of ultimate fighting, which is illegal in New York State.
Obama impressed Verel by chatting with him about a couple of ultimate fighters who had competed last weekend.
“It’s shock and awe,” said Verel, 40, of Buffalo, who asked to be considered for the president’s fitness advisory council. “My phone was in the car — that’s how unprepared I was.”
What has MMA scribes and fans in shock and awe? The mainstream media’s refusal to invest some time in actually learning about the sport. Ultimate fighting is a brand. The sport is Mixed Martial Arts. The combatants are not ultimate fighters. They are mixed martial artists.
The MSM always seems to refer to the sport like this:
“…they learned a few things about the president: He knows how to work a crowd, he’s comfortable with his sex appeal, and he knows a thing or two about the sport of ultimate fighting.”
And yet the MSM derides bloggers for failing to practice solid journalism. Remember this when you read another lazy MSM-written article that tries to compare MMA to human cockfighting: they don’t even know the proper name of the sport, let alone the rules. And they don’t care to find out.
