George Bush, MMA Fighter

How many people do you think would like to enter the cage with George Bush and smash him? This fighter’s name is George W. Bush and he is even George Bush the Third. Believe it. You have to love how Mauro let’s the “Mission accomplished!” call go right after the fight is ended by a submission.

Also pretty awesome: this George Bush also tested positive for the Chronic.

Down Goes the Ref! Down Goes the Ref!!

April 11, 2010 – Dr. Americana

Mauro Ranallo and Stephen Quadros get a big kick out of watching the referee take a tumble at the recent Strikeforce Challengers event. How many times do you think a fighter would like to send a ref to the canvas like that?

Call the Wahhhmbulance For Dan Hardy

April 9, 2010 – Dr. Americana

So much for being gracious in defeat. Dan Hardy instead opts for delusional. Here’s what Hardy had to say about his utter domination by GSP at UFC 111.

“The way I see the fight, in my opinion, there’s winning and winning,” added Hardy, who didn’t attend the post-fight news conference. “And like I said before, my intention when I get into the cage is to beat my opponent, to put a beating on my opponent and take the fight from him.

“Obviously GSP won, you look at the scorecard and he was dominant in his victory. But I didn’t feel like I was beaten up in any way, I wasn’t injured, I wasn’t hurt. He took the win from me but he didn’t take the fight from me.

“I wasn’t beaten mentally or physically. I don’t know, it must be frustrating for the fans and it’s frustrating for me because I know that GSP has the kind of potential to make more of a fight out of it. But he’s very good at wrestling and he chooses to stick with the safe option to keep his belt. I mean you can’t hold it against him. It’s not what I would do in his situation but I’m not in his situation right now, so I can’t really make those calls.”

The article also has these stats: “St-Pierre took Hardy down 11 times and connected on 59 of 79 significant strikes, according to FightMetric which tracks mixed martial arts bouts. Compare that to Hardy’s four of 27.” I can’t even recall one “significant” strike by Hardy let alone 4.

The point is that GSP beat Hardy with his hands, his wrestling and almost his subs. Hardy couldn’t even land a handful of meaningful strikes. Yet he has the nerve to talk about how GSP went about dismantling him. Hardy also made mention of fighting St. Pierre again. I doubt that will ever even happen, at least in the near future. I’m sure Dana White doesn’t want to see it, GSP sees no need for it and the fans — the fans that he thought the fight was frustrating for — certainly don’t want to see it.

You know why it was frustrating for the fans to watch? Because Hardy put up no threat to GSP at all, and GSP had his way with him as if he picked some slob out of a bar to fight. So Hardy can whine and opine all he wants — it’s the best part of his game — but it was his performance that made this such a lopsided fight.

The Best Fatso Fighter On the Planet

April 7, 2010 – Dr. Americana

Longtime MMA fans know all about Roy Nelson. He was the heavyweight champion of the now defunct IFL. He’s renown in the MMA community for his excellent set of skills, if not his enormous belly. Now newer fans know this too: that Nelson is no gimmick, not just another pretty chubby guy. As Joe Rogan recently said, “Roy Nelson is no joke”.

Nelson got into the UFC by competing in the “The Ultimate Fighter” reality show. He beat up internet sensation Kimbo Slice and Brit James McSweeney to get to the finals. Once there he knocked out former NFL player Brendan Schaub. Most recently he knocked out 6’11″ Stefan Struve.

“Big Country” is 15-4 and will now start to face the upper tier, if not the elite of the UFC’s heavyweight division. He’s kind of a hero to the everyman. His physique looks like many of the people watching him on TV. He loves fast food. And he beats up stronger, better conditioned fighters. Here’s a look at the best fat fighter in the world, Roy Nelson.

The Axe Murderer Likes Soft Toilet Paper

I have no idea what he’s saying, but if Wanderlei Silva tells you to buy some toilet paper, you’re buying that toilet paper and lots of it.
