Shinya Aoki Breaks Hirota’s Arm, Flicks Him Off

December 31, 2009 – Dr. Americana

A sick way to end the year in MMA. Shinya Aoki breaks Mizuto Hirota’s arm, then puts on a sick display of sportsmanship, giving Hirota the finger as he writhes in pain. Shameful.

How about actually commenting on the video, instead of telling us where else it’s linked on the Net? Yeah, we get it. News gets linked other places. It’s not like you won the Nobel Peace Prize. ‘OGM! There’s a link for this video SOMEWHERE ELSE! It’s almost like were not virgins any more!”

What’s the story behind this? Any trash talked by Hirota? Bad blood between the camps? Rare as hell to see this in Japanese MMA

When I clicked the link I was expecting to be disappointed but the guy had it coming. He wasn’t going to tap no matter how far his arm got cranked. He wanted it broken, he got his wish. He should have gotten an extra kick to the face for stupidity. The middle finger might be a “sick display of sportsmanship” but so is forcing your opponent to actually maim you.

Hirota should’ve tapped – once Aoki got the mount the match was pretty much over. I’m guessing Aoki was frustrated because Hirota wouldn’t tap and had no choice but to keep cranking. The middle finger was saying “that wasn’t too smart eh!”

I hope no one who watches the ufwwe is hypocritical enough to complain about this. MMA fans get the show they deserve.

It was the responsibility of Hirota to tap – when Aoki got the mount the match was over.
Hirota left him no choices but,
    1) – Let him up (fat chance)
    2) – wait for the ref to get bored and stand them up (stupid if he did)
    3) – push the arm till Hirota taps – he didn’t so it is all on him.

I don’t know but I get the impression Hirota did some trash talking too.
The reaction of Aoki seemed like he had taken a lot of abuse and was still pissed.
I could be wrong maybe some who heard the pre fight build up could comment.

The hair cut is typical of the type who run their mouths.
I ALWAYS cheer for the least arrogant fighter.

IMO breaking his arm isn’t the issue and yes, that was stupid of him not to tap and completely his own fault. The issue is the sportsmanship. After beating someone like that, I dont think anything else needs to be said or done because YOU GOT OWNED!

All my kids train in BJJ (and other martial arts also), MMA if you will and I dont want them to think that this is what sports are all about. He is a professional athlete and professionals just dont act that way. If we fans want to see more MMA fights, this type of behavior cant continue because city and state officials just wont have it and in order to have sactioned events like this, our city and state officials have to approve. I doubt they would approve this. Next thing we know, MMA will become totally watered down just so we can watch. My $0.02

Okay so you are locked in a position you can not fight out of. What do you do? Tap! Him not tapping is basically saying Im a tough guy who wont admit defeat, ohh yeah to beat me you have to break my arm. It forced Shinya Aoki to do some thing he didn’t want to do. I’m sure no MMA fighter guys into the ring with the intent to end someones career or even just break their opponents body parts. The middle finger was just Shinya’s way of saying look what you made me do as hole. Oh and for that look how bad it looks for MMA speil, this is an isolated incident. Do you see this happening a lot or do you see people after knocking out their opponent checking to make sure they are okay?

Yeah this guy was pushing to purposefully maim this guy. This was for not a win this was to hurt permanently. In this case this guy should be ban from fighting forever. This in noway is compared to Brock and Mir… Had Brock did a jumping axe to Mir’s neck while he was down yeah.. This was bad to watch and the Ref here should be done as well they are there to protect the fighters from injuries just like this on
